Katarina Löfström at Moving Image
March 6-9, 2014
We look forward to participating in Moving Image New York where we will present A Void by Katarina Löfström.
A Void, consists of visual components inspired by the relationship between different patterns from around the world, and their origin, also called entoptic phenomenon. This is a kind of feedback between the brain and the retina that occurs in the optic nerve, which manifests itself in various geometric shapes and patterns. The work is 8:30 minutes long loop with music by Head of Wantastiquet and Beequeen.
Katarina Löfström (b 1970, Sweden) has become known as a video artist who has based her works on abstractions and myths with the human perception as a starting point. Earlier video works such as Score, Hang Ten Sunset and Whiteout are surveys of various stages of consciousness, such as wakefulness, daydreams, the hypnagogic state and trance.
Moving Image takes place March 6-8, with an opening reception (by invitation) Thursday, March 6, 6-8 pm. For further information on Moving Image please visit http://www.moving-image.info/.
