KRISTINA JANSSON [new artist] at Andréhn-Schiptjenko
We are pleased to announce that we now represent Kristina Jansson (b. in 1967).
”Kristina Jansson’s imagery contains a contrast between light and darkness and a combination of the positive and the negative. Other media, such as film, photography and text, consistently inspire her painting. She uses the flexibility of painting, in both shape and content, and applies it to different issues, ranging from existential and emotional to philosophical and political.”
From the text The Oblique Gaze by Angelica Blomhage.
Kristina Jansson will have a solo show at Andréhn-Schiptjenko in the autumn of 2012. In 2010 she was Carnegie Art Awards’ 2nd prize winner and her works have been shown at, for example, KIASMA – Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, HVCCA – Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, New York, Kristinehamns konsthall and Väsby konsthall.
