Sally von Rosen's Mrs. Sphere (2024) is presented in the group-exhibition Playa! at Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm, Sweden. The exhibition brings together artists from different disciplines and generations, based in Sweden and across the Nordic region, and explores the condition of art and humanity between the existential poles of mercy and hope.
When asked about Mrs. Sphere the exhibition publication, von Rosen said:
"A new kind of species might be a good way to think about it. I see my creatures as part of a kind of generation - I make them - but they come from each other and develop. A visitor once came up to me at an exhibition and said that my piece made him feel like he wanted to run away from it, but also take care of it. Maybe something fragile or beautiful but also unsettling. At the same time, the works are filtered through me and the world I live in, so they also become a kind of mirror of a state of being."
