LILLE FLANDRES STATION, LILLE, FRANCE, 2019
Xavier Veilhan has unveiled 'Romy,' a new sculpture commissioned by the city of Lille, France.
Xavier Veilhan placed the sculpture at the entrance to the Lille Flandres Train Station — a connecting point for tourists, workers, regulars and people passing through. ‘Romy’ is a monochrome bust of an enigmatic young woman, who appears to emerge from the ground. She is the perfect embodiment of a traveler —looking towards the Lille Flandres Train Station, she will welcome visitors from around the world, faithful to the Lille tradition.
