The Stockholm and Paris-based Andréhn-Schiptjenko Gallery brought works by British artist Linder Sterling, born in 1954, to Brussels. The feminist artist, who usually refers to herself simply as Linder, is currently being honored with a major retrospective at the Hayward Gallery in London (until 5 May 2025). She is known for her eclectic and provocative photomontages, in which she recombines found objects from art history, fashion, advertising, pornography and other sources with surgical precision in order to put traditional gender roles to the test and expose the male gaze regime. Her collage “No age will be silent” (2017), a wild mix of postcards of ancient sites, a pin-up photo, rose motifs and a hummingbird, typical of her work aesthetic, was offered for 15,000 euros.
