Co-founder and director, alongside Ciléne Andréhn, of the Swedish gallery Andréhn-Schiptjenko, now established in Paris, I meet Marina Schiptjenko on the occasion of Art Brussels (member of the Selection Committee), while the gallery is simultaneously participating in Art Dubaï. This dual presence reflects a highly ambitious international expansion balanced with by a strong local footprint in Paris. A loyal participant in Stockholm’s Market Art Fair, opening this year on May 16, Andréhn-Schiptjenko is also participating to Independent NY and gearing up for the upcoming Paris Gallery Weekend (May 23–25) with a solo show by Swedish feminist artist Siri Derkert, a pioneer who represented the Nordic Pavilion, then newly established, at the 1962 Venice Biennale.
