Pro Anatomy (2015) is the first comprehensive catalogue of Swedish artist Cajsa von Zeipel’s work from 2007 to 2015. Divided into three sections, the book explores her sustained engagement with the human body, from her signature sculptures to 1:1, a groundbreaking project in which she 3D-printed a replica of her skeleton from a CAT scan, moving beyond the body’s surface to its anatomical core.
Featuring essays by Andrew Durbin, Chris Ford, Stefanie Hessler, Sarah Nicole Prickett, and Lyndsy Welgos, alongside an introductory text by the artist and A-Z, a poetic script for a 2009 sound piece, the catalogue presents von Zeipel’s reflections on narcissism, bodily ideals, and the aesthetic and social discourses that shape how the body is represented. Illustrated throughout with images from her CAT scan, Pro Anatomy offers an intimate and comprehensive perspective on her artistic practice.
Cajsa von Zeipel (b. 1983, Sweden) has exhibited internationally and her work is held in numerous public collections in Sweden and abroad.
